I originally called this quilt the "9 x 9 x 9" because it was rows of 9 blocks that are all 9" in size. The qualities of the Check Mates woven collection offer a wonderful opportunity to enhance the checkerboard 9-patch. The generous size acts perfectly as a simple warm layer of texture underneath a more elaborate quilt on the bedscape.
