Bookhou Arounna Khounnoraj was born in Laos and raised in Canada from the age of four by a mother who handmade most of their life. Arounna therefore naturally entered art studies and has explored pattern and image in textiles and sculpture ever since. She and her husband John Booth, also an artist, founded bookhou.com in 2002 in Toronto to showcase their collaborative work. They create hand-screened, printed works that land in fashionable accessories and home goods. Their work is as earthy and warm as it is provoking and modern.
